Brian is a staff psychiatrist in the Neurotherapeutics Department at McLean Hospital, where he treats patients with severe mental illness using modalities such as electroconvulsive therapy and ketamine. He completed his adult psychiatry residency training at MGH and McLean Hospitals, serving as Chief Resident of Psychotherapy and the Program in Psychodynamics.
Brian completed a fellowship at the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and Institute (BPSI) and trained in the Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) clinic at McLean Hospital. Brian is currently the Affiliate Psychiatrist at Two Brattle Center, a multidisciplinary consultation team that treats patients with personality disorders using evidence-based approaches such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Additionally, he practices family therapy in consultation to the Gunderson program at McLean Hospital.
A former finalist in the Harvard Innovation Lab's Dean's Health and Life Sciences Challenge, Brian has a strong interest in working with entrepreneurs and serves as Executive Coach in Residence at Techstars Boston, a premier startup incubator. Having studied systems psychodynamics at BPSI and led interpersonal groups for years, he employs a team-based approach to help founders succeed through insight into group process.
Brian graduated from Yale College with an honors degree in philosophy and earned his MD from Harvard Medical School.
Melissa is a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner educated to provide care for patients across the lifespan.
Melissa has had a diverse range of clinical experiences, which includes working with adolescents with Borderline Personality Disorder and trauma diagnoses at McLean, adults on inpatient medical psychiatric unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, and psychiatric partial program patients at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
Melissa is passionate about providing holistic and inclusive care for all patients, regardless of cultural background, sexual orientation, and sexual identity. Her approach to care acknowledges pharmacology as just one element of improving a patient’s mental health, while also emphasizing therapy and other avenues of wellness (diet, fitness, social connection). She has an interest in dialectical behavioral therapy as well as the mind-body connection.
Melissa completed her undergraduate and graduate nursing education at Northeastern University where she graduated with honors. She also holds a prior undergraduate degree in Behavioral Neuroscience.
Outside of the clinical sphere, Melissa enjoys adding to her vinyl collection and shopping at Trader Joe's.
Danielle is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner in psychiatry and mental health (PMHNP-BC). She can extensive experience working with individuals of all ages, providing medication management and psychotherapy for a wide range of mental health conditions including but limited to depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and trauma. She is committed to providing holistic and evidence-based care. Her approach to medication is collaborative and conversational, providing a low-pressure and client-centered environment to discuss treatment options.
Danielle completed her training at Boston College. She is currently a NP at Boston Medical Center/Boston Emergency Services Team. Prior to completing her Master’s degree, Danielle worked as a psychiatric registered nurse at McLean Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. She has also taught undergraduate nursing students for Northeastern University and MCPHS University. She is currently enrolled at Boston College in a PhD program.
In her free time, Danielle enjoys spending time with family and frequenting local restaurants.
David is a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), where he works as a part-time inpatient clinician and conducts research on how we can better detect suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
David is the co-founder and Chief Medical Officer of Valera Health, a digital health company. David specializes in working with young professionals and executives. He also has experience with couples and group therapy.
David graduated from Harvard College with an honors degree in neurobiology, and earned his MD MBA from Harvard Medical School and Harvard Business School. He completed his adult psychiatry residency training at MGH and McLean hospitals.
In his free time, David likes to watch sports and travel.
